I am pleased to write this testimonial in support of Mr. Boisey Bristo of Bristo Counseling. I had the privilege of working with Mr. Bristo during my time at the Center for Neuro Skills and continued to benefit from his guidance even after my discharge. Initially skeptical about the value of personal counseling, Mr. Bristo helped me understand its true purpose and transformed me into a strong advocate for it. Mr. Bristo always created a safe and welcoming space for me to express all my emotions, whether positive, negative, or neutral. My successful mental health recovery owes much to his counseling. His attentive listening and keen insight allowed him to identify aspects I hadn't noticed myself. He guided me in accepting my trauma without feeling like a victim. Boisey's holistic approach helped me embrace my experiences with self-compassion while also finding a path forward. I will always be grateful for his support and wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone navigating trauma or seeking a little extra support.
Boisey Bristo has been my therapist and life coach over the past three years. I remember in 2020 saying to myself I needed help after experiencing such a traumatic situation and I didn’t know where to start. After thorough research, I found Boisey and my life has not been the same. Boisey makes my voice feel heard and the solutions he provides continues to impact to my healing journey in a positive constructive way. I am truly blessed to have him as my therapist.
My son has been a client working with Boisey for little over a year now. He has a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Boisey is the only therapist that has been able to help him see a different perspective in his life. My son was really quick to run off other therapists and dismiss them because he felt like they wouldn’t understand where he was coming from. Boisey took the time to build rapport, trust and a relationship that now has this 16yr old teenage boy coming home asking me if its “therapy day”. Never thought I would hear those words from my child who swore he would never talk to a therapist again. Haha Boisey is patient, because I know there are times where my son does NOT want to talk or work through some hard subjects, but he gets there with him. TBI is HARD! As his mother, there are things I do not understand and Boisey is there to help me as well. That is what we need. A team to help my child succeed and grow into the best young man he can be. I believe Boisey is doing that with him. When my son gets upset, there are times when he will say now, “Ill just talk to Boisey about that”. That brings me a lot of peace knowing that he has someone he feels like understands him and that he knows will help him through whatever he is dealing with. Boisey supports our family as well through many issues. His communication is great and his compassion for situations really stands out. He has been there for my son in many emergency situations when we were not scheduled but something happened. I appreciate that SO much and I know he did too. Speaking from someone who has been in this industry for over 16 years herself professionally and I personally interview and do my history on my children’s counselors, Boisey is one of THE BEST!
